Gaseous nitrogen losses from pig slurry fertilisation: can they be reduced with additives in a wheat crop?
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim of the study: The use pig slurry as fertiliser is associated with gaseous nitrogen (N) losses, especially ammonia (NH3) and nitrous oxide (N2O), leading to environmental problems a reduction its value. This study evaluates, in an irrigated wheat crop, effect different additives mixed decrease NH3 N2O losses.Area Middle Ebro valley, SpainMaterials methods: treatments were: i) non-N-fertilised control, ii) (PS), iii) urease inhibitor monocarbamide dihydrogen sulphate (PS-UI), iv) microbial activator development (PS-A), v) nitrification 3,4-dimethylpyrazole phosphate (PS-NI). Pig was applied at target rate 120 kg NH4+-N ha-1. Ammonia volatilisation measured using semi-opened static chambers after application presowing 2016 side-dressing 2017. Nitrous emissions were closed 2017 2018 side-dressing.Main results: estimated be 7-9% 19-23% applications, respectively. Additives not able reduce any moment. PS-NI only treatment being effective reducing emissions, 70% respect those PS treatment. Crop yield parameters affected by because no controlling losses low contribution N balance (<1 N2O-N ha-1).Research highlights: would recommended from perspective, although without grain benefits.

Ammonia emissions from pig and cattle slurry in the field and utilization of slurry nitrogen in crop production Doctoral Dissertation
Volatilization of ammonia (NH3) from animal manure is a major pathway for nitrogen (N) losses that cause eutrophication, acidification, and other environmental hazards. In this study, the effect of alternative techniques of manure treatment (aeration, separation, addition of peat) and application (broadcast spreading, band spreading, injection, incorporation by harrowing) on NH3 emissions in th...
متن کاملGaseous nitrogen and carbon losses from pig manure derived from different diets.
Manipulation of the diets of pigs may alter the composition of the manure and thereby the environmental and agricultural qualities of the manure. Laboratory studies were performed to quantify the effect of manipulation of pig diets on the chemical composition of the derived manure (slurry), the potential emission of methane (CH4) and ammonia (NH3) during anaerobic storage of the manure, and the...
متن کاملIsotopic evidence for large gaseous nitrogen losses from tropical rainforests.
The nitrogen isotopic composition (15N/14N) of forested ecosystems varies systematically worldwide. In tropical forests, which are elevated in 15N relative to temperate biomes, a decrease in ecosystem 15N/14N with increasing rainfall has been reported. This trend is seen in a set of well characterized Hawaiian rainforests, across which we have measured the 15N/14N of inputs and hydrologic losse...

Today, nuclear medicine has rapidly been developed so that in some cases, plays a unique role in diagnosis but unfortunalty in spite of diagnostic and therapeutic advantages, the term “NUCLEAR” can induce worries in patients and society. In this article, base on new documents, we intend to show that this worries has no scientific basis. To produce a realistic view, ...
متن کاملGaseous Losses of Nitrogen from Green Plants. Ii. Studies with Excised Leaves in Nutrient Media.
In the previous paper (1) of this series, studies to determine whether gaseous losses of nitrogen occur from cultures of Chlorella and Lemna when grown on various sources of nitrogen, showed that no losses occurred except for one minor exception. In this one case slight losses of nitrogen from Chlorella cultures, grown on ammonium nitrate, did occur. The significance of this finding is somewhat...
